Plant
engines and a carriage washing shed with pits to
examine the hogies.
For outside stations I am only allowing one
building on one side of the line only with separate
quarters for the Station Master and Signaller.
For Taipo I am allowing a small goods shed with
jetty with ash pits and watering arrangements. These
latter may be necessary, but if engines are changed
at the Frontier, I think it might be possible to get
engines capable of negotiating the heavy grades
without watering at Taipo.
The $234,067/- booked against this Kain Head
represents the depreciated value of construction
plant after the construction is complata. In the
case of tunnel plant about 42% depreciation has been
charged against works. This is sufficient I consider
as the plant for the tunnel is not shipped about to
the same extent as Bridge Building Plant.
For Miscellaneous plant I have placed 50%
depreciation against works. A considerable quantity of this plant I consider will be taken over by Open
Line viz. Some of the Lancashire Boilers and
Tynamos for the workshops, the Loco Crane and Broad Guage Tank Locos for the goods yard as well as some
of the 2 ft. guage line for the interior of the
goods sheds.
I do not foresee much difficulty in getting
rid of the greater of the plant left over which will
be a great saving in capital Expenditure.
